“Mike was a very kind soul; he was a wonderful friend and I loved him.”—Robert Wagner

Mike Connors was best known for his pivotal role as Joe Mannix on the television show that ran for eight seasons, but he had a long and storied career on the stage and screen prior to that. Yet, Mike was so much more than the characters he portrayed. In an industry that is not known for being kind to those who pursue it, Mike Connors held a reputation for excellence, professionalism, and, above all, kindness.

Those who called him “friend” will tell you he was enduringly so and that he befriended everyone he encountered, whether that be a costar, a producer, a fan, or a service worker.

This memoir offers an in-depth look at the career that attracted a loyal fanbase over decades that remains steadfast, but it also reveals why he was such a sought-after talent. Bill Taylor has diligently and intently gathered history and testimonials and related his own time spent with Mike to craft a portrait of a man everyone wanted to know and cherished the opportunity to do so.

Mike Connors: A Life of Integrity in Film and Television is the loving tribute that honors Mike’s wish: “I hope someone does write my book one day, even if it’s after I’m gone.”
